Monte Cristo Waffle Sandwich

A Monte Cristo is a fried ham and cheese sandwich, a variation of the French croque-monsieur. Being 2015 and all we kicked it up a notch for waffle week and placed this monster of a sandwich on our waffle iron. Let's just say it's real and it's spectacular. (Guess the show hehehe)

Monte Cristo Waffle Sandwich

Powdered Sugar

Directions
1. Warm up your waffle iron and set aside.

2. Prepare your sandwich by layering two pieces of ham on the first slice of bread, followed by two pieces of white cheese, and lastly two more slices of ham. Top with second slice of bread and dip entire sandwich in egg wash for 20 seconds.

3. Spray non-stick spray all over both sides of your waffle iron.

4. Place wet sandwich on waffle iron and close shut. Cook for 2 minutes or until slightly golden brown.
