Homemade Cadbury Cream Eggs

Homemade Cadbury eggs …. Because why not.

Homemade Cadbury Cream Eggs

Makes approx. 20 eggs

Ingredients
1⁄2cup light corn syrup
1⁄4cup butter  (room temperature)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1⁄4 teaspoon salt
3 cups powdered sugar (sifted)
2 drops yellow food coloring
1 drops red food coloring
24 hollow chocolate Easter eggs

Directions
1. Combine the corn syrup, butter, vanilla and salt in a large bowl and beat well with an electric mixer until smooth.

2. Slowly add powdered sugar and mix by hand, until completely smooth.

3. Remove 1/4 of the mixture and place in a small bowl. To this add two drops of yellow food coloring and one drop of red and mix well. This will be your "yolk".

4. Using a serrated knife, cut of the tops of all of your hollow eggs. You need to be gentle with this process. I heated my knife under hot water and then quickly dried it before cutting my chocolate egg because it helped go through more easily without breaking the eggs. You will break a couple. Just cut slowly and move the knife back and forth and don't just cut downward.

5. Fill each egg with the white mixture and add a dollop of yellow sugar mixture on top. Chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour before serving.
