DIY Fringe Balloons

I have a new LOVE. Move over coffee filters and mason jars ..... these DIY Fringe balloons are stunning and the possibilities are endless. You can make these balloons for a birthday party, wedding shower, baby shower .... they can even be used for engagement photos. And they're not only gorgeous, but they're fairly easy and really affordable too!

What you will need:
(1) 36" balloon w/ ribbon
2 to 3 colors of plastic table clothes
Scissors
Tape
Feathers and Glitter (Optional)

Alright, let's get started. For the fringe we used these super cheap classic plastic table covers. These are $1 each and you get 12 fringe tassels out of each table cover.

Completely unfold your plastic table cover until it's only folded in half ONE time. It should be folded horizontally once.

Then fold it in half again. You should now have four layers.

Now cut it in half from the side. 

Now separate your pieces so you can start the fringe.

Using scissors, I cut one inch strips. Be sure to leave a 2" inch space on top. You do not want to cut the strips off. Leave them attached.

Now start rolling your fringe together. 

And staple the top so your fringe tassel now looks like a pom pom.

Keep making 'em ..... You need about 12-20 for a large 36" balloon, depending on how many you want on one string.

Now you are going to attach your first tassel. You want to secure it to the top of the ribbon, at the base of the balloon. 

Using a piece of regular tape, wrap your first tassel around the balloon ribbon. 

And continue down with all the other tassels.

Now this is where you get creative. We added feathers to our balloons. You could easily add colorful ribbon as well. It just makes the balloon even more special.
